Development: Developing interest and participation in international and domestic Athletics by US-based Guyanese athletics
at all levels. Management: Promoting Athletics and athletes by gathering information and cooperating with other
rganizations to enhance US-based athletes. Performance: Finding the most qualified US-based Guyanese athletes
for international competition in Athletics and providing support and conditions which ensure optimal performance. Marketing:
Generating public awareness, appreciation, and support for Athletics and Friends of Guyana Athletics, creating opportunities
for athletes, and generating sponsorships to aid this association in fulfilling its purposes and duties.
Duties This non-profit association shall have the following duties:
Scheduling: Minimizing, through coordination with college, high school, club programs, conflicts in scheduling of all
competitions. Communication and Responsiblities with athletes: Keeping US-based athletes actively informed
of policy matters necessary to compete for Guyana. Support: Provide equitable support and encouragement for
all athletes regardless of gender, disabilities or race. Registration and Certification: Registering athletes
as members and certifying such athletes as eligible for international and Records: The association shall investigate
and research all performances submitted for participation in competition. Administration of Athletics: Performing
all other duties necessary for the administration of US-based athletes and to achieve this association's purposes.
Authority
Membership
Membership is open to all athletes, but generally consist of athletes who meet these standards: Birthplace: All
athletes who were born in Guyana; Parentage: All athletes with either or both parents are Guyanese; Naturalization:
All athletes who are naturalize citizens of Guyana. Application: All interested athletes must apply for
membership by emailing an officer or writing to the main office for registration forms. Responisibilities: Athletes
are responsible for filing the correct and updated registration forms with the association, and be fully prepared to compete
when contacted by the association.
Establishing Document
The Association reserves all right to change or modify rules necessary to promote and benefit all participants and officials
